BARN ON A HILL (watercolor, 16" x 20", matted) — I found this barn in Anderson County and took photographs. When I decided to paint it, the only thing I didn't like was the summer photo was green, green, green--so I changed it to autumn. - Brightsideart
When my husband's health started to decline in 2004, my life changed in more ways that I would ever have imagined. My brain, once overflowing with ideas for new watercolor paintings, became so cluttered with all the worries of current events, the urge to paint became a dark, empty void. I began writing and tackled it with just as much vigor as I had once devoted to painting, but I couldn't paint. Although my drawing board beckoned, there was always a reason to wait until "tomorrow." I've recently begun to paint again and I can't tell you how much joy it brings me. I hope you don't mind my sharing the excitement.
